My brief at the time was to evaluate the IT function I ran, and whether it was fit for purpose in the years to come, in the context of significant company growth. Steve was able to evaluate the abilities of the team that I had, their suitability to operate in the new model that was planned, and the efficiency of the new organisation that was planned. His analysis of the team, and how a number of people would need to do different work, was very high quality.
He was also able to support me in producing a communication plan to explain the changes we were making to the staff, the vision for the function and its changing role in the company. He also provided valuable leadership advice and coaching to help me lead the team through a very difficult time. Steve is someone that is able to provide clear thinking and analysis of difficult and stressful situations, and make decisions that are always communicated clearly and backed up with evidence.
